Album: デ ZOMER

Artist: Peter Sprinter

Hey everybody, today I was emailed to review デ ZOMER by Peter Sprinter from Peter Sprinter himself! This is another artist from the Netherlands like Eis-T! I reviewed Eis-T’s album NEDERWAVE I awhile ago, You can view the review here. Now I can certainly say that It’s a refreshing experience to hear vaporwave in another language other than English and Japanese.

It’s so cool to hear other sounds and musical rhythms in a nostalgic vaporwave format. In this album you will hear samples of what appears to be ads from the Netherlands (so cool!)

At first glance at the album cover you will be in awe of the artwork but upon further inspection you can see that the girl appears to be unconscious and the guy looking at us with a grin and winking.

That kind of made me laugh because of the implication and draws me back to “The Boat” episode of “It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia” where Dennis is going on a rant about the “implication”. If you dont know what i’m talking about, I will just leave it at that.

Now below are some songs in the track that stood out to me.

Chacun Pour Soi (vaporwave) The second song in the album stood out to me because of its cheerful tunes that takes you back to a simpler time. A time where memories are forgotten and fear is behind us.

You will witness an atmosphere of beauty. The passion can really be felt in this song and you cannot help but put a smile on your face.

夕焼け ~lingerie~ (vaporwave) In this song you will be greeted with a nice dining intro and what seems like a radio DJ. The rest of the song you will feel like you are in a TV sitcom.

It has slowed smooth lyrics the beats fused with the soaring tempo in the background will make you feel energized!

Ga Je Mee (vaporwave) If you like Future Funk then take a listen to this one! You will be amazed to know that this song isn’t like other Future Funk songs, this one is in Dutch! This one was a pleasure listening too with it’s upbeat vibes and summer trancelike atmosphere.

デ DAAD (vaporwave) What to start off with concerning about デ DAAD? Well i can tell you that this one of the more unique songs in the album. This is the song starts off with a solo string of the guitar this brings in a little some Dutch style rock N’ Roll vibes into the mix.

It really makes you wonder what’s next, Waiting in anticipation of the wild ride your are about to have. However, it surprisingly morphs your from the ride into this bizarre alternate form of the song. You will just have to hear it for yourself 🙂

Epiloog ~het verlies~ (vaporwave)  This one gave me chills when I first heard it, I can visualize this to be played on a cliffside wedding. Two people in love, surrounded by everyone that they care about witnessing two souls about to merge into one in a perfect harmony.

This a short and sweet song in the album and very different from the others. I wonder where this one was sampled from?

All in all, it was cool to hare more albums from the Netherlands. I have come to realize that there are a lot of vaporwave artist that are from the Netherlands.

One thing that I would suggest is that Peter you should take off the first track. It was not very good because it’s too repetitive and did no go with the rest of the album.
